Thribee's Geotargeting allows you to target your content to people located in a specific geographical segment for your campaigns. This feature is exclusive to Trovit campaigns.
It enables you to target users according to their country, region or city.
User Geotargeting facilitates matching specific users with the right content, which enables you to make the most of your campaigns and increases your chances of reaching the right user.
With Geotargeting you are able to:
- Promote certain content to users that have better conversion rates
- Strategically promote content to your users
- Manage your user geolocation budget. Dedicate a part of your budget, with the adequate CPC, in strategic locations for your business interests.
Focus on your audience
Impact Users from the whole country (default option): By default, your campaign will apply equally to all the users in the country of your selection. With this option, your campaigns will have an equal bid for each and every user throughout the country.
E.g. Say you set the campaign as "properties in Madrid city, with a CPC of 0.04, for users from the whole country". For this case, whenever users search for properties in Madrid, you'll bid 0.04, regardless of the user browsing from Madrid or Barcelona.
Impact users from a specific location: This option allows you to target people located in a specific area at a particular moment. It includes people whose geolocation we can identify by their device info.
E.g. Now, if you set your campaign as "properties in Madrid city, with a CPC of 0.04 for users located in the region of Madrid", for each user located in Madrid and searching for properties in Madrid, you’ll bid 0.04. If the same search is made by a user located in Barcelona, you’ll bid the CPC of the generic Premium campaign or the CPC you’ve set for your audience in Barcelona.
Easy to activate
You don't need to do any technical implementation to start using Geotargeting.
This feature is available in most of our countries, soon to be available in all of them. To find it, simply log into your Thribee account and go to the campaigns creation section. If you can’t see it there, it could be that it is not available for your country just yet. For any doubts/for more details, please get in touch with your account manager.
When choosing a specific geo segment
User Geotargeting tool allows you to select:
- A city or a combination of cities
- First-level political and administrative divisions (according to the geographical organization of the country)
- A province or state (according to the geographical organization of the country) or a combinations of provinces/states
To choose the geolocation you want to target, simply use the selector and pick one or more options.
Note that you can select more than one geo for a single campaign.
E.g. If you want to define a campaign with a CPC of 0.06 for users located in London, Liverpool or Manchester, you just need to choose these 3 cities and the same conditions of the campaign will automatically apply to all of them.
Tips for setting your campaign
Content criteria combined with Geotargeting
The content the user sees is always related to the search query he or she has previously done.
By using Geotargeting you get the chance to optimize your bidding for users doing search queries that match your ads.
The table below provides a couple of examples of campaign configurations you can try out, and it explains the content that will be promoted in each case.

If you target by user geo you are ensuring you will compete with the CPC you’ve selected in the case the users are located in this geo.
Geotargeting options
As we mentioned before, you have the option to set the Geotargeting of a campaign to one or more countries, regions or cities. You can, therefore, use this tool to strategically create campaigns that accomplish your business interests by:
- Expanding your audience: If you want to increase the reach of your campaign, you can select a region instead of a city.
E.g you can choose to promote your content from “Paris city” in “Ille de France” by choosing the geotargeting accordingly. In this way, the content from the city will become visible to the users in the region.
- Targeting your audience: In case you want to show some specific content to the users located close to it, as, chances are, they’d be more interested in it, you can do that as well.
E.g. you can promote content from Barcelona city to the people living in the city of Barcelona, but also in the nearby cities, such as Sant Cugat, Badalona, Molins de Rey etc.
- Cross promotion: You can also strategically promote content from a certain area to users located in a specific zone, which is not exactly nearby.
E.g. a campaign can target users located in “Madrid” with content from “Mallorca”, as the users from Madrid usually spend their holidays on the island of Mallorca, which means that they might be interested in buying a house there.
